There are a lot of conspiracy theories about the events of 11th September 2001. The main one is the official explaniation, that Al Qaeda hijackers flew planes into the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.

Capitalism is not a conspiracy theory it is an economic system.

7 World Trade Centre (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WTC7" target="_top">WTC7</a>, also known as the Salomon Brothers Building) was 47 stories high, just 3 stories less than <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1_Canada_Square" target="_top">the highest building in the UK</a>, it was not an old building, construction started in 1984 and it was completed in 1987. It was designed, and built by highly experienced <a href="http://www.emporis.com/en/cd/cm/?id=100906" target="_top">architects</a>, <a href="http://www.emporis.com/en/cd/cm/?id=103567" target="_top">engineers</a> and <a href="http://www.emporis.com/en/cd/cm/?id=102265" target="_top">contractors</a>. Prior to the <a href="http://www.nceplus.co.uk/fastsearch/ArchiveArticleAssetPT/?AID=12990" target="_top">spectacular failure</a> of WTC7 the building was emptied — <a href="http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2006/03/336431.html?c=on#c144954" target="_top">firefighters knew</a> it was going to come down and they "evacuated the area as they prepared for the collapse" (<a href="http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/fireman-01.htm" target="_top">source</a>).

Fires do not generally lead to the structural failure of steel framed buildings, "The Twin Towers and WTC 7 are the only known cases of total structural collapse where fires played a significant role." <a href="http://www.nist.gov/testimony/2002/abwtc2.html">Dr. Bement, NIST</a>.

The NIST <a href="http://wtc.nist.gov/pubs/WTC%20Part%20IIC%20-%20WTC%207%20Collapse%20Final.pdf" target="_top">draft report</a> into the collapse suggests that the failure of 3 columns (79, 80 and 81) out of 24 triggered the structural failure of the entire building. When Dr. Sunder of NIST was asked <a href="http://newyorkmetro.com/news/features/16464/index6.html" target="_top">why WTC7 and the fate of the building was barely mentioned</a> in the final report he admited that they have "had trouble getting a handle on building No. 7.” This isn't the final report, for that they have <a href="http://wtc.nist.gov/media/WTC7_draftSOW.htm" target="_top">gone out to tender</a> to get the answer from external contractors. "NIST has seen no evidence that the collapse of WTC 7 was caused by bombs, missiles or controlled demolition."
