this is changing a lot as i talk to people and think things through...

basically, although it feels like i could do some good work as lancaster bicycology and perhaps even benefit bicycology as a whole, there are some real issues about where this would lead us...

so, a plan i have, which doesn't seem to be too contentious, is this:

i put in a funding bid as myself, saying that i will do cycling campaigning work. i will co-ordinate stuff and do mostly my own thing, but i will also work with other groups... this will include local groups like dynamo and pedal power, and it can also include bicycology. we can all decide then on a case by case basis, if and how bicycology gets involved. i would be being paid as a co-ordinator, so that might still be an issue...but i guess its a bit like a teacher (who'll be being paid) asking us to go to a school to help out...

and i would only do this if i could get expenses for people - at the very least - and hopefully extra cash to be put into the bicycology funds...i could, for example, say i needed to hire bicycology equipment...

anyway, like i've said (too many times now i think...) this is an important issue that we should discuss in relation to bicycology as a whole, not just me, and, indeed, as activists generally...
